The World Athletics Ultimate Championship took place for the very first time from 11–13 September 2026 at the National Athletics Centre in Budapest. World Athletics' new format brings together only the global elite across 28 disciplines — Olympic, World and Diamond League champions competing directly for the title, with no qualifying rounds. Across three compact evenings, every race, jump and throw becomes a final.
